Hoofing it
We are doing a few long days to get to Atlantic City and we always seem to hit rush hour somewhere. Made it to Hartford in the dark and spent the night there, didn't see a thing. New York City getting close, not looking forward to driving near that.
Bangor, Maine to Hartford, Conneticut
All about the freeway down here, and getting from a to b. So far, 4 partial tolls on the Maine Turnpike and one for the Mass Turnpike. Drive a little bit, stop at the toll, drive a little more, stop again. Prices ranged, $1.75, $2.25, $3.00, $2,00, $1.10. We have had other tolls along the way, Toronto, New Brunswick, a bridge in Halifax. Of course, the Port Mann. Some electronic, some not.
On the map the freeway to Hartford runs along the coast but we are unable to see anything but bush. Saw a sign for Kennebunkport which rang a bell, so we veered off to take a look. Knew there had to be water over there somewhere. Took some time to find the beach and was worth the short break and nice to see what the area looks like.

Last chance lobster roll
Have tried lobster rolls in various places and this one is probably the best one. The McLobtser being the worst. Leaving the Atlantic coast so no more lobster rolls for us.
Bird's eye view
We got in late to Bangor, Maine and woke up in the morning to find out that the hotel wasn't so much near the airport but at the airport. Maybe should say in the airport. This is the view from our room.
leaving New Brunswick
Can I just say it is very humid in the Maritimes, lordy. 85% humidity today and then rain in the morning, expecting it to be cold like home but like bath water. Have come across New Brunswick today with a stop in Hartland, NB to see the World's Longest Covered Bridge.

Sackville, NB
Spent the afternoon in Sackville with Wendy. Had a nice lunch and a nice walk and the weather held out.
Back in Moncton
Took a good part of the day to reach Moncton from Baddeck, Nova Scotia. Will spend a couple of nights here with a side trip to Sackville, NB which is only about 45 min away.
Baddeck
We both slept a bit on the ferry which arrived in Sydney around 7am. We drove to Baddeck, Nova Scotia and hummed and hawed about driving the Cabot Trail. The weather was iffy and as we discovered, one does not see anything in the rain. So as good telephone employees we were, we went to the Alexander Graham Bell museum. Not the ode to telephones I expected and turned out to be a good little museum. Did you know he founded the National Graphic magazine? Invented the metal detector, can you imagine. Many artefacts from his experiments have been donated by the family who still reside in the family home in Baddeck and he is buried there.
